We all have someone that looks after us, takes care of us, and wants the best for us. Sometimes that’s our mom, dad, spouse, child, sibling, or a best friend. My mom passed in 2010, but I’m fortunate to have a wonderful husband that is always there for me. For those of you who get to celebrate with your mom this Sunday on Mother’s Day, enjoy it! You are very lucky. For those who have another person in your life that is there for you, feel grateful and let them know how thankful you are. My card this week could be used for any “mom” in your life.
I’m using the following Alex Syberia Designs products:
Nested Scalloped Rectangle Frames Dies Set
Classic Sentiments Press Plate and Die Set
I am using Neenah 80lb White Cardstock for the card base and scalloped frame.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used a warm gray cardstock for the A7 card front. I splattered white and black paint over the gray and set it aside to dry. Using white cardstock, I stenciled the tulip bouquet on white cardstock. I used Distress Oxide Inks in shades of pink, red and green. I used the Nested Scalloped Rectangle Frames Dies Set to cut out the scalloped frame around the tulips. Using a red fine-tip red marker, I added vertical stitches around the perimeter and splashed some white paint over the tulip design.
I die cut the elements of the butterfly from the Cheerful Meadow Die Set. I used two tones of pink cardstock and added some black detailing. I assembled the layers and attached the butterfly over the tulips using a foam tab.
I used my Classic Sentiments Press Plate and die set to print and die cut the sentiment in black. I attached the sentiment over the tulips to complete the card and attached the entire card front to a white card base to finish it.
