Hello everyone, this is Nicky with you today on the Alex Syberia Designs blog and I’m sharing a cheerful birthday card with you all that features many products to be found in the shop. Please read on for all the details.
As with most of my cards, this one started as two panels of sturdy white cardstock and I used the Brilliant Burst Hot Foil Plate and Rainbow Confetti Foil by Spellbinders to create the burst/firework style background with multiple jewel tones. This is so beautiful when the card catches the light. I glued this panel to my already prepared card base and then with the second white panel I used the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set to create the frame which I applied popped up on dimensional foam tape.
Using the unused portion from creating the frame, I used the Postage Stamps Cover die to produce the two smaller ‘stamp’ style panels which I ink blended using the Postage Stamp Stencil.
The inks I used to ink blend here were Poppin’ Pink by MFT and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I backed these two stamps with dimension tape and applied them to the background.
The next task was to stamp the two Pandas from Cheerful Panda Moments and I added some Copic colouring in C3, C1, C0 and blushed their cheeks with RV06, RV04 and RV02 which was also used on the one party hat. The blue party hat was done with BG09, BG57 and BG01. Images were die cut using the coordinating dies, backed with more foam tape and adhered.
To finish the card I continued foiling so there was even more shine to this project. I used the Celebrations Sentiments Hot Foil Plate and the Thin Strips Cover Die to create a whole bunch of sentiment strips. I used three of them for this card and I now have many left over for future projects. These sentiment strips were applied floating over the top of the other elements and the foil I used was ‘Aura’ by Spellbinders.
I highlighted the Pandas using a white gel pen and then this card was complete.
I do hope you enjoyed reading how I made this birthday card today and I hope you feel inspired to create soon.
Nicky
