Hi crafty friends! I’m sharing a super quick card today because I’ve got my two college kids home for the holidays and I needed something quick and easy to share! This is a card I made during the Alex Syberia Designs “Grateful For You” release. It features the Garden of Blooms 7-layer stencil set and coordinating die. If you are one that is shy to make beautiful florals or just learning about shadows and highlights, try this combination of products. I guarantee you that you’ll make a beautiful bouquet that look like it took hours, but really only maybe an hour or less to make.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock for my card base. I splattered a leafy green color of watercolor paint over the front of the base and set it aside to dry. Meanwhile, I got busy stenciling the bouquet using Distress Oxide Inks yellows and greens. You could use any colors and your favorite inks. I chose the yellows. I chose Distress Oxide Inks because they work well for stenciling projects. I stenciled the entire bouquet on a separate piece of Neenah 80lb Classic Cress Solar White cardstock. Once it was dry (typically 5 minutes depending on what inks you are using), I cut the entire bouquet out using the coordinating die.
I added a strip of green cardstock to the front of the base. This could also be a “belly band” that goes around the entire card. I stamped the “Grateful for you” phrase in the lower righthand corner of the card base using black ink. This phrase is from the “Grateful for You” stamp set. Lastly, I used foam tabs to attach the floral design to the center of the band. It’s done and ready to send!
