Hello friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with my very first post as a design team member on the Alex Syberia Designs team! I’m excited to share inspiration and helpful tips with you through the year. If I’m new to you, you can find all my social media handles and blog site location at the bottom of this post. I’d love to be friends with you! I’m a lover of color and all things crafty. I’m a 5″ X 7″ cardmaker, but my cards can easily be converted to any size. I’m a dabbler in abstract canvas art to cardmaking. Creativity and color brings joy to my life. 🙂
Today’s card was designed with two things in mind – the new monthly challenge by Alex Syberia Designs and the late summer season. I think of chrysanthemums when I think of late summer so this card was inspired by the upcoming seasonal change. The colors I used were actually chosen by the monthly challenge team. The challenge is to make either a shaker card and/or a card using a pretty pink, two colors of aqua, a navy and gold. I love this color combination so I used all five colors on my card. I’m using the following stamps and dies for my feature card:

For my 5″ X 7″ card, I used two cover dies to fill the background since my background is larger than the individual cover dies. I cut both of them from Neenah 80lb Classic Crest cardstock in Solar White. I added strips of navy, teal and aqua to the back of the Tiny Crosses to allow three of the monthly challenge colors to show through. I used a piece of navy cardstock behind the Modern Stripes design. I love the crisp look of navy and white! To finish the edges of the two designs, I added a light pink 1/8″ strip of cardstock between them, another challenge color.
I stamped the chrysanthemums using four colors of yellows and golds (another challenge color). It’s fascinating to see this flower realistically blossom with the layers of colors. I created two flowers and several coordinating leaves to tuck behind these bold beauties. I also die cut multiple bows (2 sets) using the Pretty Bows dies and nestled them between the flowers. I added a simple pink pearl sticker to the center of the bow to complete the look. The “thanks” word was die cut from white cardstock (word die) and navy cardstock (shadow die) and added the layered look to the bottom to complete the card.
