Hi friends. I’m excited to think about Valentine’s Day. I love pinks, reds and hearts. Here’s a card I made that leans into the reds and pink and includes a little love, too! This card could be used for more holidays than heart day. It would make a perfect engagement, birthday or wedding card. Here’s the list of Alex Syberia Designs products I used:
Happy Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies
Nested Scalloped Frames Die set
Spring Garden Stamp Set and coordinating dies
I also used a cute cover die that is no longer available, but this Tiny Hearts Cover die would work perfectly for this card
I use Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used strips of pink fuchsia to create a horizontal-striped background. I cut 1/4″ and 1″ wide strips, each 5″ long. I used the largest Scalloped edged frame from the Nested Scalloped Frames Die set to create the background. I ran the scalloped edge piece through the diecutting machine with a cover die. I could not find this die on the website, but I think the Tiny Hearts Cover die would be a great die to use for this design.
Next, I stamped, colored and die cut the florals and greens using the Happy Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies and the Classic Foliage Die Set. I used a red ink for the florals and colored them using Copics Sketch Markers in RV00, RV02, RV55, RV09 and R14. The greens were cut using two colors of green. I added some brown stems (E57) and sponged on some darker green on the leafy branches.
I arranged the florals on the front, using foam tabs behind the larger florals to make them stand out a bit. I tucked in the greenery to make a nice arrangement. I added a phrase from the Spring Garden Stamp Set and cut it using the coordinating dies. Lastly, I added a few gem stickers for a little sparkle for the special day!
