Hello crafty friends! Before we get to Christmas, we need to enjoy the fall season. I am sharing a sweet card that is all about be LEAF! I am using the following products from the latest release called, Grateful For You including:
Be Leaf In Yourself Hot Foil Plate and Die set
Tiny Autumn Leaves Hot Foil Plate
Smile More stamps and coordinating dies
My card below measure 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front and card base. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. I also like to use foam squares to create more dimension on my cards. My white Gelly Roll Pen is my go-to for adding any white highlights. Here’s the details.
I started by hot foiling the adorable leaves using the Tiny Autumn Leaves Hot Foil Plate and a copper colored hot foil. I use the Glimmer Foiling System by Spellbinders to do my hot foiling application. I attached the foiled card front to my card base. I also added a strip of white cardstock at the top for a cleaner background for the cute critter.
For the top of the card, I stamped, die cut and colored the cute animal and attached him using a foam tab behind it to make him stand out. I also added a brown leaf, larger focal point image to the back of the critter to draw attention to the focal point. The leaf is from the Whimsy Blooms Bouquet die set.
To make the small brown leaves flying around the critter, I ran my hot foil plate through the die cutting machine to actually cut the leaves from the design. This works if you have enough pressure. To add pressure, I added a few pieces of cardstock on top to thicken the plate. I punched out a few of the leaves, colored them in browns using Copic Markers and glued them to the card front. I used a fine-tip black marker to add the movement lines and dots around the animal.
Lastly, I hot foiled and die cut the “Be Leaf In Yourself” sentiment using the Be Leaf In Yourself Hot Foil Plate and Die set. The sentiment was attached using foam tabs to make it stand out. I attached the card front to the card base to complete this one!
