Hello Alex Syberia friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski with a little inspiration for the October Monthly Challenge. This month’s challenge includes beautiful blue violets and yellow-greens along with some pretty warm orange colors. I chose to use the challenge colors for my inspiration card today.
I’m using the following Alex Syberia Design’s products:
Balloon Floral Extravaganza stamp set (for the “Celebrate” sentiment) and coordinating die set
Nested Stitched Circle die set
My card measures 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 envelope. The front panel and card base are made from Neenah 80lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. The right edge is a copper-colored metallic cardstock. Here’s more details…
To make the 5″ X 7″ card, I started by blending Ranger Distress Oxide Inks in Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac colors over the front panel. I splattered the ink with water, using a watercolor fan-shaped brush and then blotted it dry with a paper towel to create the splotchy effect. I also splattered watercolor paint over the ink-blended background, using a brighter royal-like blue and Dr. PH Marten’s white ink. Once it was dry, I attached the stitched circle, cut from white cardstock, to the front panel. I used the smaller circle in the set.
I used the two larger leafy dies from the Garden Tweets die set to cut multiple green, leafy stems from varied shades of olive green cardstock. I die cut the berries, berry branches and the brown leafy stems using the Winter Foliage die set. I colored the berries using Copic Sketch Markers in RV99, RV17, V04 and V12 for the plum/purple berries and YR27, YR24, Y23 and R89 for the orange berries. I attached the leaves and berries, curving around the circular design.
I added some white dots to the leaves to make them look less-than perfect. I also stamped and die cut the “Celebrate” sentiment from the Balloon Floral Extravaganza stamp set and coordinating die set. I attached the sentiment, added some black “specks” around the phrase. I added a little bling using gem stickers around the sentiment. Lastly, I added a strip of metallic copper cardstock down the right side of the card front panel. I attached the front panel to the card base to finish this card.
