This is Sylvie @kaliscards. I’m sharing another card inspiration mixing the Spellbinders Release Spring in Kyoto designed by Alex Syberia Designs with additional Alex Syberia Designs products.

To create this card, I started with die cutting the Kokeshi doll from various colors and types of cardstock. My starting point for this project was a pad of small origami sheets that I’ve had in my stash for years. And I used one sheet for the kimono and let it inspire the colors of the shaker.
Because the origami sheets are rather thin, I doubled the kimono with a layer of white cardstock underneath. I picked regular cardstock, choosing colors that were repeated on the kimono. For the hair, I selected a black glossy cardstock.
The kokeshi doll is very easy to assemble. Layers locations are indicated with lines, so the order and placement is very logical and easy. But a little help doesn’t hurt, so here is the Spellbinders product description:
To assemble the doll, I used liquid adhesive.
Next, I ran a panel of black cardstock with the Floral fans embossing folder, through my die cutting machine. And I then used the large scalloped rectangle die from the Nested scalloped frames die set to create the background panel. Embossing and then die cutting does take a bit of the dimension away, but the reason I did it in that order is because embossing shrinks the paper in only one direction mostly so the scalloped edge would not have looked as good.
I then used again the die set to cut the small rectangle (2nd size in the set) from white cardstock. I also used the Chic roses layering die set to create two openings for the shaker, using to mid size dies from the set.
I taped a piece of acetate at the back with double-sided tape, added thick foam tape and then poured the flower clay embellishments. I removed the backing papers from the foam tape and adhered a larger rectangle of white cardstock. I then trimmed the edges with a pair of scissors.
To assemble the card, I adhered the background panel onto the cardbase with liquid adhesive. I then adhered the shaker in the center with liquid adhesive. I then glued the kokeshi doll and finally the sentiment which I stamped with black ink on white cardstock, using the Avian allure stamp and coordinating die sets.
