Hello crafty friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a handmade floral thank you card. I don’t know about you, but I am just waiting for Spring to arrive. It’s very cold where I live. I’m channeling my spring vibes into this floral card featuring the following Alex Syberia Designs products:
My card is 5″ X 7″ and the card base is made from Neenah 80lb Super Smooth cardstock.
To create this thank you card, I started by die cutting all of the elements of the Garden Tweets florals, greenery, and bird. I also die cut four layers of the Pretty Bows and five layers of the “thanks” script. I used two tones of aqua, pink, and orange and a gold color cardstock. I glued all the elements together to make the two sizes of the flowers, the bird, the bow and the scripted “thanks.” I splattered brown watercolor paint and white ink over the florals to make them a bit imperfect. For the bow, I used both sizes of the bow and layered them, offsetting them just a bit to give the bow depth. I also layered four white and one aqua “thanks” die cut to make the word stand out more. It is such a think scripted word so the extra layers made the word stronger, too.
On the four greenery pieces, I used my Copic Sketch Markers in YG67, YG13 and YG03 to give the leave a more varied and interesting look. If coloring is not your thing, you could leave them green.
Before adding the florals, I splattered the front of the card base with a very light aqua watercolor and let it dry. Next, I added the greens, flowers, bird and bow to make a pretty bouquet with the bird resting on a stem. The bird and all of the flowers were attached with foam tabs to make them sit up and away from the background. This gives the bouquet more of a 3D look. My last step was gluing the “thanks” die cut in the lower righthand corner.
