Hello, crafty friends!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Brenda here with a floral card combining several of the new sets from the latest From Our Hearts Release!! I’m always a fan of Alex’s floral die sets and the Trendy Botanicals Set may just be my favorite yet!!
I started by die-cutting the flowers and leaves in the Trendy Botanicals Die Set from white cardstock. Sometimes I like to start with white cardstock and add shading with inks or markers, to maintain that strong highlight that the white cardstock gives. This time I used dye inks in shades of yellow, orange, pink, green and teal, along with blending brushes to add color and shading. I adhered each of the flowers together using liquid glue, then set them aside to work on the background.
For the background, I die-cut the Heart Garland Cover Die (another favorite) from a panel of white cardstock. I blended peach and orange dye inks around the outside of the panel, leaving the center lighter, then splattered it with diluted black ink and a paint brush. Once it was dry, it was adhered to a panel of pink cardstock that matched my ink-blended flowers.
The sentiment is from the From Our Hearts Stamp Set. It was embossed onto black cardstock with white embossing powder, then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I die-cut three more layers using the “Love” die from heavyweight white cardstock and adhered them behind the black one, then adhered it to the front of the card. I trimmed the “love” portion away from “sending love” and popped the “sending” sentiment up with foam tape to complete the card.
I absolutely love everything about how this turned out!! From the flowers to the background and the colors…it just makes my heart happy!!
