Hey there! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a fun birthday card showcasing many of the cute Alex Syberia Designs party animals! I love all these cute characters and just had to combine these sets to make the party even more fun! I’m using the following products on this 5″ X 7″ card:
Paradise Birds stamp set and coordinating dies (SALE ALERT: Save 40% on this set now during the Summer Sale 8/10-8/20/2023!)
Pengu-tastic Holiday stamp set and coordinating dies
Underwater Wonders stamp set and coordinating dies
To make this card, I started with a watercolor background washed in bold oranges and yellows. I also created a sandy hill landscape by applying Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and splattering the ink with water to lift color. This makes the sand look splotchy and imperfect, kind of like real sand. I splattered brown and yellow watercolor inks over the top, too. I hand cut the hills using my scissors and layered two pieces over the watercolor sunset sky background. I added two palm trees to the background from the Pengu-tastic Holiday stamp set. My scene is now ready for the party-goers!
Seven cute animals were added to the scene as well as the P-A-R-T-Y letters in bright colors. Of course, every party needs a few festive drinks, a pineapple shirt on the penguin, a pineapple in the tree, and stars in the sunset sky. (Note: The pineapple on the T-shirt is the pineapple from the hat in the stamp set! Three lines on the penguin character makes the T-shirt design. Easy!) I used Copic Markers in bright colors to color the characters and scene elements. I used my white Gelly Roll pen to add highlight marks, too. Lastly, I added the “Happy Birthday” sentiment at the top of the card. This card is festive and fun and perfect for a summer birthday.
