Hi everyone! I’m Michelle Woerner from Stop and Stamp the Roses and I am super excited to be the guest blogger for Alex Syberia Designs! I was honored to be asked to make a set of cards for a special feature in the Die-Cutting Essentials issue of Creating Stamping Magazine. I will be sharing each of those 5 cards today. They all all focus on die cutting with a birthday
theme and a color palette of Pale Pink, Hot Pink, Bright Green, Orange and Baby Blue. It was such fun! Take a look at the cards I made.
First up is fun blooms card using the Fantasy Flowers Die set.
I started by die cutting the Tiny Flowers Cover Plate Die with white cardstock and adhering it over a blue card base. Then I die cut a variety of blooms with the colors in the palette, assembled together and adhered together. Next, I lightly inked each of the blooms at the base of the flower with coordinating ink to give a bit of depth. The sentiment is from the Birthday & Wish Hot Foil Plate and Die
set. I used matte silver foil on glossy black cardstock. Lastly, I added some glitter stickles to the flower centers for that extra pop of sparkle!
Next up is a fun little circle card that features 2 of the adorable pandas from the Cheerful Panda Moments Stamp and Die set.
I started by die cutting the circle card base with the Nested Stitched Circle Die set and lightly blended green and blue ink for a faint backgroud for the pandas. Then I stamped and die cut the pandas and accessories and colored them all with copic markers. Next, I arranged and adhered them to the card base.
The sentiment was stamped with clear pigment ink, heat embossed with white on black cardstock and die cut with the coordinating dies. I adhered them over the trio of balloons. Lastly, I added a few rhinestone gems to the crown for sparkle and pops of white gel pen to the balloons for
dimension.
Next up is a simple flower blooms card using the Delicate Blooms Die set.
I started by die cutting the card base using the Nested Scalloped Frames Die set from white cardstock, I think a shaped card adds that extra WOW factor! Then I hot foiled white cardstock using the Elegant Stripes Hot Foil plate with light blue foil. Next, I die cut it with a nesting pierced rectangle die from the Nested Scalloped Frames Die set and adhered it to the card base. I die cut the flowers from the pink shades in the palette and leaves/stems from green, assembled together and adhered.
The sentiment is from is from the Birthday & Wish Hot Foil Plate and Die set. I used matte silver foil on glossy black cardstock. Lastly, I added some light blue rhinestones to the flower centers for that extra pop of sparkle to tie into the foiled background.
Next up is an elegant birthday card using the Floral Balloon Extravaganza Stamp and Die set.
I started by die cutting the Dazzling Fireworks Cover Plate on white cardstock and added glitter stickles to the fireworks die cut marks. After they dried, I adhered the panel to a blue card base. I stamped the large floral balloon image two times and colored each with Copic
markers. Then I die cut and adhered them to the card front slightly overlapping. Next, I stamped and die cut the strings and adhered them tucking the tops under the balloons. The sentiment was stamped with clear pigment ink and heat embossed with white on black cardstock, die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered over the balloon at an angle.
Lastly, I added some glitter stickles to the flower centers to compliment the sparkly background.
Last up is a colorful birthday cake card using the Celebrate with Cake Stamp and Die set.
I started by die cutting the card base using the Nested Scalloped Frames Die set from hot pink cardstock. Then I hot foiled white cardstock using the Tiny Dots Hot Foil plate with bright pink foil. Next, I die cut it with a nesting pierced rectangle die from the Nested Scalloped Frames Die set and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the birthday cake with light blue ink and stamped the cake accents and platter with a darker blue and die cut them out and assembled. I stamped the flower, leaves and heart elements with pink and green ink, die cut them and adhered to the cake. I arranged them in small clusters using the rule of 3s and noting the pinks from the flowers coordinated with the hot pink card base. The sentiment was stamped with black in on white cardstock, die cut with the coordinating die and adhered along the bottom. Lastly, I added 2 pink rhinestones to the flower clusters for a touch of extra sparkle.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope these cards have inspired you to make some birthday cards to add to your stash. If you want to see more inspiration from me you can follow me on my blog, Stop and Stamp the Roses or on my Instagram page @mwoerner.
