Hello Crafty friends,
Sylvie @kaliscards here, back on the Alex Syberia Designs blog with a Retirement card. I haven’t had an opportunity to do many of these in the past years, but I’m started to get more and more lately, so I thought it would be good idea to have one ready for the next colleague leaving the company!
For this card, I used the new Trendy pattern stencil and combined it with the Cheerful panda moments and Tulips treasure stamp sets. For the sentiments, I used the new Self-care sentiments set and Floral medley hot foil plate and coordinating dies.
To create the card, I started with the background, blending Distress oxides Spun sugar and Kitsch Flamingo through the first stencil of the Trendy pattern stencil set, then Antique linen and Old paper through the second, and Old paper and Twisted citron through the third stencil.
To stamp the cute panda inside the tulip, I first stamped the big tulip from the Tulips treasure set on masking paper and fussy cut the front row of petals. I adhered the mask on a piece of cardstock and then placed the panda stamp just above and slightly behind the petals. I stamped the panda and again on masking paper, sliding the mask underneath the first row of petals mask, to get the exact shape. I then used the petal mask as a guide to position precisely the tulip stamp and removed the mask. I fussy cut the panda mask and adhered it. Finally, I stamped the tulip and removed the panda mask.
I then die cut the tulip using the coordinating die, using the partial diecutting technique to cut the bottom part and preserve the top of the panda. To do so, I placed the top die cutting plate over the area to die cut, i.e., not over the panda head. I then fussy cut around the panda to finish cutting the image.
I colored the image with Copic makers and added a few highlights and eyelids with a white gel pen. I adhered the image to my background with 3D foam.
I foiled the Happy retirement sentiment, from the Floral medley set, with matte gold foil and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I then stamped the other sentiment from the Self-care sentiments set with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold powder. I used the coordinating die to cut it out. I then adhered the sentiments on the card, using a thicker 3D foam. To finish the card, I adhered a few rhinestones here and there.
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day!
