Hello friends. It’s Bobbi here sharing two floral cards using essentially the same “ingredients.” A very special woman of 98 years left us this week and she was ready. She has two daughters and I wanted to send a card to each one. This isn’t a sad time, but rather a happy time. It’s a time to share the beauty of her life in stories of fond memories. I chose “thinking of you” for these cards because it just felt right. I’m using the following Alex Syberia Designs products:
Garden of Blooms stencil set and coordinating die
Tulip Treasure stamp set and coordinating dies
Nested Scalloped Frames Die Set
Both cards are 5″X 7″ in size. I used Neenah Classic Crest 80lb cardstock for the card bases.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I stenciled the floral design using Distress Oxide Inks in Worn Lipstick, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness (in this order from stencil 1 through 7). After I stenciled the florals, I splattered on some pink watercolor, let it dry, and then die cut the image. I also die cut the Tiny Hearts Cover Die from white cardstock. I attached the die cut to the card base that I covered with a green and white pattern paper.
I attached the floral bouquet to the hearts die cut backdrop using foam tabs to make it stand out a bit. I also stamped and die cut the “thinking of you” sentiment using the Tulip Treasure stamp set and coordinating dies. I attached it to the bottom of the heart backdrop and added a few pearl gem stickers to accent the florals. Lastly, I tucked in a few Quirky Hearts to the bouquet.
I followed a similar process for the second card, changing out the floral petal colors to Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon and Abandoned Coral. This time, I used another pattern paper die cut using the Nested Scalloped Frames Die Set to create the framed backdrop. I added white Quirky Hearts to the bouquet.
