Hey friends, I’ve got a sweet card for a friend of mine who loves foxes. My friend thinks they are the cutest wild animal and I kind of agree. Their coloring is so pretty, especially during fall. My friend and I love doing things together so I thought this sentiment was perfect. My card measures 5″ X 7″ and features the following Alex Syberia Designs products:
Collecting Memories stamps and coordinating dies
I used Neenah 80lb cardstock for the card front and card base of this A7 card. I use double-sided Tombow tape to adhere my card together and Bee Creative Precision Tip Glue to layer the florals. Now for the rest of the details…
To make this card, I started by creating a faux wood “trellis” for the background of my flowers. I used the Chevron Chic Cover Die and added a black backing to it. I think it looks so chic as a privacy fence/trellis. To create the woodgrain, I used Copics: E59, E57. E55, E53 and E43. It is important to keep the E43 in the mix because it gives it a more weathered appearance with its gray undertones.
I also ink blended color onto my 5″ X 7″ card front panel to represent sky and grass using Ranger Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass (sky) and Mowed Lawn (grass). I used a blender brush to apply the ink. I attached the trellis to the inked card front.
Next, I die cut my flowers from white cardstock and ink blended Distress Oxide ink color on to the blooms. I used Mowed Lawn for the leaves and bright colors for the florals including Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Orange Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Barn Door, Candied Apple and Broken China. I attached the flowers to the sides of the trellis to make it look like they are growing up and around it, with some of the blooms falling into the center.
I also stamped, die cut and colored the bear, wagon and fox images using the Collecting Memories stamps and coordinating dies. I used Copic Sketch Markers to color the images including the following:
- Bear: E57, E55, YR27, YR24, YR31, B95, B45, B41, YG17
- Fox: YR27, YR24, E51, YG17, YG67
- Wagon: E57, E55, R27, R14
I attached the images to the scene, in front of the trellis, adding the fox to the bears back. I attached all of them with foam dots to make them stand out in the forefront. Lastly, I stamped and die cut the sentiment and added it using foam dots to make it stand out.
