Hi crafty friends!
Cheryl from Cheryl Espie Creates here
Welcome to my first blog post of 2023 as part of the Alex Syberia Design Team!
I hope you all had a good time with family and friends over the seasonal period.
Today, I am sharing a card that has some stamping, die cutting and some Copic colouring (of course!).
I adore the Birthday Wonderland Stamp and Die Set, it’s adorable. Who can resist that hedgehog and that face?….just makes me smile.
To begin, I coloured him in with some brown hues using Copics Sketch Marker E74, 79, 53 & 57. For the present and scarf I complimented the browns with teals, using markers BG15 & 18. The little squirrel got the same treatment.
As a rule, when I colour, I tend to look at colours that compliment each other to tie the images together.
For the background I matted the Fancy Cover Die on to grey cardstcock from my stash. Then, I added some grey stripes. Reason being, I felt the background needed a little extra something, something.
After spending some time on the placement of the images, I decided to pull out the wonderful Birthday Wishes Stamp Set. This set is full of sentiments to miss and match so that what I did. I stamped two different fonted sentiments and die cut them. Then, added them to my design and voila!
Well, that’s it from me today friends.
I hope my card design has inspired you to pull out your ASD goodies and create something cute today!
Until next time, take care
Cheryl
