Hello Rebecca The Wizardess Of Cards here, it’s another month and another stunning release by Alex Syberia Designs. This release is so refreshing and because its officially spring I’m so excited to share two spring cards from the new collection!
FIRST CARD SPRINGTIME
I love a stormy sky just before the rain comes, you feel the wind pick up and see lightning in the distance. That’s the look and feel I wanted to achieve for this card. To start, this card is an A2 sized card measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. The steel blue card stock I had in my stash, the watercolor paper is Arches and once I printed the Springtime image on it I cut it slightly smaller than the blue card stock! I began by watercoloring my background because I wanted to get my stormy sky just right! Once dry I proceeded to layer my watery colors on the delicate spring flowers, you can use whatever watercolors you have! To finish I splattered white gauche and used a sticker sentiment from Tim Holtz. I glued all the pieces and I had a beautiful spring card!
SECOND CARD PEONY BACKGROUND
This card is also an A2 sized card but was a little more detailed than the first. One thing about Alex’s digi stamps that I love is that you can cut them apart. They are very versatile! This was a Peony background stamp but when I was finished coloring I took the piece I needed and saved the rest for another project! I printed this peony image on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper. For whatever reason I seemed to have a little ink bleeding from my printer this time but it worked to my advantage, as it created a shadow effect. To color I used my Tombows and a new product to me Marabu Graphix Brush Pens, I was happy with the blending and colors of the peony in the end. One thing to remember about a lot of these watercolor markers is paper is everything! I did add in my colored pencils along the way for depth and shadow. The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson All Inside Stamp Set as well as the stiped Black paper! I had to add some sparkle and one butterfly from the Slimline Butterfly Die from Whimsy Stamps! I love these butterflies! I glued everything and that’s my spring floral card!
Thank you for stopping by all images are available in the Alex Syberia Design Etsy Shop
