Well hello there and welcome to the Alex Syberia Designs blog, this is Nicky with you today and I’m walking you through how I created this pretty card showcasing the delightful ‘ Sweet Friend’ stamp set.
I took a panel of sturdy white cardstock and I used the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set to create the quilted edged panel. I came in with Mowed Lawn and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks and blended a little background and I dotted in some interest to the grass in green and white.
I stamped the images from Sweet Friend using Eiffel Tower Ink by MFT. Some images were stamped multiple times so that I could form a more involved scene. I coloured the images using Copic markers in the following combinations:-
Mice – E31, E41, E40, W3, R0000
Blush & Ears – R22, R21, R20, R00, R000
Purple Flowers – V17, V04, V12, V01, YR07, YR04, Y21, YG13
Medium Flowers – YR04, Y38, Y21, YG13
Small Flowers – E35, E11, Y21, Y00, YG13
Mushrooms – RV34, RV11, W3, W1
Orange Shirt – YR09, YR04, Y21
Blue Dress – BG11, BG000, C3, C1
The images were die cut using the Sweet Friend Coordinating Die Set and the images were highlighted with a white gel pen. Starting with the large purple flowers in the back, I began to either glue images directly or some were popped up on dimensional foam tape and I worked my way forwards and downwards until all of the coloured images were included in the little scene.
I had also stamped the two part sentiment and the die set also cuts these out (don’t you just love that?) and I applied these strips with foam tape.
To complete the card I decided to pick up on the orange colour by applying a panel of orange cardstock behind the decorative panel so that just a sliver of it showed. I backed this with a panel of white craft foam and then adhered it to my A2 white card base.
A few sparkling clear sequins were tucked here and there for a finishing touch and that was card done!
I really appreciate you visiting the blog to read today and hope you can squeeze in some crafting this weekend.
Nicky
