Hello friends! Today is a fun day because we are celebrating the new Press Plate and Stencil Collection by Alex Syberia Designs! To bring light to the new collection, Alex Syberia Designs is sponsoring an Instagram Hop with prizes. Leave comments at each stop on the IG HOP and you could win a prize and purchase your own products! You can start the the ASD IG page or my page, @bobbihartdesign. It fun, easy and you get to see these special products in action. See how each designer creatively used the new products in their projects. There’s lots to see so and who knows, you may be one of the lucky winners, too!

My project on the Instagram Hop features these delightful products:
Elegant Blooms Press Plate and coordinating Die Set
Abstract Background Press Plate
Classic Sentiments Press Plate and Die set
These sets were designed in collaboration with Spellbinders to be used with its BetterPress system. Essentially, you ink up the press plates using special die ink and run them through your diecutting machine to print beautifully detailed designs each time! Get all the details below and to learn more about my featured card!
Elegant Bloom Card
To create this 5″ X 7″ (A7-sized) greeting card, I started with a white card base and a black card front. The front was cut from black cardstock and measures 5″ X 7″. Next, I used a BetterPress cardstock in a white, precut A2-size, 4.25″ wide X 5.5″ tall, and attached the cardstock to my press plate with some washi-type tape that comes with the BetterPress system. Next, attached the Abstract Background Press Plate on the platform and inked up the design using BetterPress Black Dye Ink. You get a small pad with the system. I ran the entire platform/chase through my Vagabond (other diecutting machine will work, too) to create this beautiful design for my card’s focal point. I followed the directions included with the system. They were easy to follow. This was my first time using it.
I rounded the edges using my edge cutter on the abstract print and attached it to the black card front. I set it aside to work on the flower.
I did the same for the Elegant Blooms Press Plate and coordinating Die Set and the Classic Sentiments Press Plate and Die set. Once dry, I die cut the flower and sentiment using the coordinating dies. I colored the gorgeous flower in pinks and reds using Copic Markers: RV09, RV55, R14, RV17, YG03, YG13, YG17 and YG67.
I attached the flower and the “hello” sentiment to the abstract background and added some gem pearl stickers in a metallic silver and fuchsia to the card to add a little bling. This 5″X7″ card is ready to send!
