Hello friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski here, celebrating a birthday with a friend. I have a friend who was born on Christmas so every year, I’m sure to send a birthday card. I don’t want her to get missed in the shuffle of the holidays. I made a card featuring the following Alex Syberia Designs products available at Simon Says Stamp:

My card below measure 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 envelope. I’m using 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card front panel, card base and hot foiled sentiment. Everything is stamped using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. I use Simon Says Stamp Dot Runner Tape Adhesive to attach the elements together. Here are the details…
To make this card, I used Distress Oxide Inks to stencil the balloons to the white card front panel. I chose these inks so that some of the color would be lifted in the next step. After I completed the stencil balloon design, I splattered the front with watercolor inks in coordinating colors. It almost looks like confetti with the balloons. Some of the watercolor splatters also lifted ink from the balloon colors, making them unique and fun.
I foiled the “It’s your birthday” phrase in a bright green foil and cut it using the coordinating die that comes in the set. I also cut two streamer bows from the violet cardstock using dies from the Timeless Blooms Celebration Die Set.
I stamped birthday phrases using the Celebrations Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. I cut them using the Thin Strips Cover Die. These two products together allow you to stamp once and cut once to get lots of phrases for your future birthday cards. I love that! I chose the three phrases I wanted to use on this card and placed them from short to long, down the front. I cut coordinating colored cardstock strips in teal, lime and violet using the Thin Strips Cover Die and added them to the front of the card, alternating between the phrase strips and the colored strips. Once the strips were attached, I attached the phrase and streamers over the left of the strips to conceal them and make it look like all the strips dissolve under the hot foiled phrase, “it’s your birthday.” This 5″ X 7″ card is ready to send to my friend!
