The focal point is a beautiful aqua peony surrounded by intricate yellow flowers, creating a fresh floral arrangement that feels bright, uplifting, and full of texture. The card base is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock.
This is a quick card to make beginning with an easy background. The card front background is stenciled using the Clouds & Waves Builder Stencil and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink. I used a blender brush to apply the ink. I also splattered blue watercolor paint over the clouds.
For the focal point, I stamped the peony bouquet on white cardstock. I used the Whimsical Scalloped Frames Die Set to crop a part of the bouquet. I also framed it using a black cardstock by die cutting the smaller scallop frame in black. I attached it to a teal cardstock rectangle also cut using the same die set.
I colored the design using Copic markers. I used blue/greens for the peony, Y19 and Y18 for the small yellow flowers and BG75 and BG72 for the tiny teal florals. The leaves were colored in YG17, YG13, and G00. I also stamped, die cut and layered three thicknesses of the “Hugs and Happy thoughts” sentiment and attached it to the frame in the lower, right corner.
