Welcome to the Alex Syberia Designs blog today, this is Nicky back with you again and I’m sharing a vibrant Christmas card design I made using the Joyful Poinsettia Die Set. Also used in this card is the Jingle Bell Joy Die Set for the fir fronds, the Joy Die for the sentiment and of course the Postage Stamps Cover Die and coordinating Postage Stamps Stencil.
I grabbed the cover die first and die cut sturdy white cardstock. Over this I lay the stencil and I ink blended using Saltwater Taffy, Ripe Persimmon and Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink. I dotted in some snow using white acrylic paint and a stylus and once dry, I backed the panel with dimensional foam tape and applied it to a small white panel which would disappear behind it and then in turn this was all glued to a patterned panel from my stash and from which I pulled my colour choices. This was glued to a card base that I’d prepared.
Using the Jingle Bell Joy Die Set I die cut the fir fronds from minty and glossy but sparkled cardstock from my stash. I then used the Joyful Poinsettia Die and vibrant red cardstock and die cut all the parts to create one big flamboyant bloom. I used a little Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink along the edges of the flower layers then glued the parts together then to the card background. I then tucked in the fir pieces behind the flower, glueing as I went.
I glued a cluster of clear seed beads in the centre of the bloom and dotted in more snow and highlighted.
To complete the card I created the sentiment. I die cut white and sparkling silver cardstock and used the Joy Die to create the word ‘joy’ and then the remainder of the sentiment is from the Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set. I glued the word ‘joy’ in place and underneath it I tucked the rest of the stamped sentiment which I popped up on a little foam tape.
One more Christmas card completed for the season!
Thanks for stopping by, see you next Saturday with yet another holiday card.
