Hello Crafty friends,
Sylvie @kaliscards here.
For today’s project, I used the new Avian allure collection (stamp, coordinating stencil and coordinating die), the Good day quilted rectangles die set for my background panel, the Postage stamps cover die and coordinating stencil, and Special delivery stamp set.
To create this card, I started by stenciling the Avian allure images, blending Distress oxides:
- Stencil 1: Old paper and Twisted citron for the leaves, Spun sugar and Kitsch flamingo for the flowers, and Tumbled glass and Peacock feathers for the bird
- Stencil 2: Twisted citron and Mowed lawn for the leaves, Kitsch flamingo and Picked raspberry for the flowers, and Peacock feathers and Salty ocean for the bird
- Stencil 3: Vintage photo for the twigs, Picked raspberry and Seedless preserves for the flowers, and Salty ocean for the bird
- Stencil 4: Squeezed lemonade and Wild honey for the flower centers, Uncharted mariner for the bird feathers and Black soot for the eye
To finish, I added a few highglights in the bird eye with a white gel pen.
I then used the coordinating dies to cut out the images. On my desk, I arranged the flowers, twigs and leaves and covered them with a low tack adhesive sheet to pick them up and glued some of the pieces at the back. I also glued the smaller flower onto the bird. I then reserved these for the assembly step.
I then die cut the Postage stamp die from white cardstock, placed it over a tacky mat and layered the Postage stamp stencil over it. I then blended Distress oxides, Old paper, Twisted citron, Mowed lawn, Spun sugar, Kitsch flamingo and Picked raspberry on one half, and Tumbled glass, Peacock feathers and Uncharted mariner on the other half. I removed the stencil and placed the panel in my stamping press. I then stamped two different silhouette images from the Special delivery stamp set. Finally, I also stamped postage marks from the same set over them.
I then die cut the back panel from white cardstock with the larger rectangle from the Good day quilted rectangle die set and blended Distress oxide Old paper on the edges. I then stamped multiple times one of the sentiments from the Special delivery set onto the panel, with a light ink.
Finally, I stamped the With love sentiment from the Avian allure stamp set with black ink and used the coordinating die to cut it out.
To assemble the card, I first adhered the back panel onto the cardbase with liquid adhesive. I then adhered the two postage stamps with foam tape, slightly at an angle and one overlapping the other. I also made sure to leave enough space to place the bird on top of one of the stamps. I then adhered the flowers with foam tape over the back panel and liquid adhesive over the postage stamps. I then adhered the bird with foam tape. And finally, I adhered the sentiment with liquid adhesive over the flower and foam tape over the back panel.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!
