Hello Crafty friends,
Sylvie @kaliscards here.
Today, I’m sharing my final project from the Creative Stamping Magazine featuring the Sweet Friend release.
I started by die cutting the background panel with the larger rectangle from the Nested scalloped frames die set from Frost foil cardstock, a Kaisercraft paper pad.
From the same cardstock, I also die cut the Friend script word, using the Friend die set. And I die cut the outline from white cardstock. I adhered the script word onto the outline with liquid adhesive.
I then adhered the background panel onto the cardbase with liquid adhesive.
Next, I foiled the front panel with the Tiny Hearts Hot Foil Plate and Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Moondust on white cardstock. I trimmed the panel to fit within the background panel stitches.
With the smaller circle from the Nested stitched circle die set, I die cut a circle in the upper part of the front panel and adhered vellum at the back. I then added foam tape at the back and adhered the front panel onto the rear panel, centering it.
I then die cut the Elegant peony die set from white cardstock. I die cut several leaves, and cut out a few leaves to tuck in behind the flower and main leaves. I then ink blended the die cuts with Distress oxides:
– 1st layer: Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed
– 2nd layer: Mustard Seed and Wild Honey
– 3rd layer: Wild Honey and Carved Pumpkin
– 4th layer: Carved Pumpkin and Ripe Persimmon
– 5th layer: Ripe Persimmon and Crackling Campfire
– 6th layer: Crackling Campfire
Leaves: Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon
I then splattered Metallic watercolor, from an Altenew set, all over the peony and leaves, with several shades of gold and greens and let them to dry.
Meanwhile, I stamped the Missing you sentiment and cute mice from the Sweet Friend stamp set. For the mouse with the net, I used masking tape to stamp the mouse only without the net. I then colored the images with Copic markers: E50, E40, W00 and 0. For the cheeks and ears, I used RV11, R00 and R000. With a Soufflé black glaze pen, I added details on the eyes and muzzles. For the clothes and glasses, I used BG23, G00 and BG10. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images and sentiment and then trimmed out the net with a pair of scissors.
I then shaped the peony petals with a cylinder of around 2 cm in diameter, to give them some volume and I assembled the flower with liquid adhesive, making sure to add glue on the centers only, in order to keep the volume and dimension on the edge of each petal.
With liquid adhesive, I then adhered the stem and leaves at the bottom of the front panel. I presented the flower in the center of the circle and glued one of the mice, peeking from behind the flower. I then adhered the flower and sentiments. I adhered additional leaves behind the flower and along the stem to add some interest. Finally, I adhered the other mouse with foam tape on the bottom left corner.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!
