Whimsy Blooms Bouquet with Merry Christmice

Hello there!  This is Nicky with you today on the Alex Syberia Designs blog.  I have this new Christmas card to share with you which combines the Whimsy Blooms Bouquet Die from the October release along with the previously released Merry Christmice stamp set with it’s companion die.  I have also used the Noel Die and the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set.  Read on for all the details of my process.

I started with a white A2 panel of cardstock and ink blended using Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink.  I faded it away to nothing towards the bottom of the panel.  I loosened some white acrylic paint with a drop or two of water and spattered the panel generously.  I die cut using the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set.  I backed the panel with white craft foam and then glued it to a white A6 panel.

I grabbed some green cardstock from my stash and I die cut using just one of the green frond dies contained in the Whimsy Blooms Bouquet Die.  I glued together the gathered stems and then added red bows which were die cut using the bow from the same die set.  I spattered the bunch of mistletoe with more of the white paint, I glittered it with Stickles glitter and I then added snow using DecoArt Snow-Tex.  I glued the mistletoe  to the card’s background.

I used the Noel Die and die cut white cardstock 3 times and glued the words in a stack and then glued that to the background.

I stamped two of the mice from Merry Christmice using black ink, I also stamped a candy cane and holly sprigs.  I coloured using the following Copic marker combinations:-

Mice – E43, E31, E41, E40

Blush – R22, R21, R20, R00

Green G18, YG67, YG45

Red – R89, R39, R29, R24

I added designs with a white gel pen, glued the sprigs of holly to their hats and then applied them either side of the Noel with dimensional foam tape.

The finishing touch was to add flat cup white sequins for snow and a single red flat cup sequin to the centre of the decorative bow.

Another Christmas card done!  I appreciate you stopping by and I’ll be back next Saturday with something new.

Nicky
