Watercolored Beautiful Day

Hey friends!  It’s Amanda Fitterer here on the blog today sharing this fun watercolor card I created using the Beautiful Day Stamp Set!

I tried something new and used my watercolors that have been sitting around for a while!  To make the watercoloring easier, I used gold embossing powder instead of ink!  Because the powder melts with some height to it, it creates a barrier for the watercolor so it can’t escape!

I used WOW! Polished Gold Embossing Powder, along with the WOW! Glue Pad.  The watercolors I used are called Artistro.  To create this look, I applied some water with a paintbrush to small areas at a time.  I dipped my wet brush into the color I wanted and then lightly dabbed the water.  I would let that area dry and then add more paint to create some shading.

Because I want the background to match the watercolor paper I’m using for the flowers, I’m also using watercolor paper for my background.  I splattered some metallic gold watercolor on this panel.

I die cut each floral border out using the coordinating dies.  I also used Polished Gold embossing powder for my sentiment and die cut it out as well!  I propped all the pieces up with foam tape.

I really enjoyed watercoloring these flowers and hope you enjoyed the card too!  Have a really great rest of your day!
