Stamped Paper Piecing hand made cards

Hi card making friends and welcome back.  Today I’ve got a New Video – Stamped Paper Piecing hand made cards to share with you and it’s up on the Alex Syberia YouTube site.  I’m so excited to share that I have joined their YouTube Design team so for the next 6 months I’ll be creating card making videos using their fabulous products, which I dearly love.  AND, if your not a subscriber, you should, as you are missing out on great card making videos from this amazing design team.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure.

Today’s video uses the beautiful Tulips Treasure Stamp Set and I walk you through how to stamp and paper piece a card with it.  Make sure you watch to the end where I share my second card with you.

The technique uses patterned paper so grab your stash and have a look through.  You want a light and dark for the flower and the same for the leaves.

How to create the Stamped Paper Piecing hand made cards – Card #1

Products Used:

Start by Black Heat Embossing the tulip image onto your choices of pattern paper. The tulip head in two colors and the leaves and stems in two colors

Next, choose which piece will be the base and cut out the entire thing.  Then, cut out the highlight pieces from the second piece.

Then, use Bearly Art Glue with the fine tip to glue the highlight pieces onto the base to create the entire tulip.

Creating the Background (or as I like to call it – the background noise).

Start by laying the Glowing Geometry Hot Plate onto the glimmer hot foil machine, design side up.

Next, cut a piece of Black (or white) glimmer hot foil slightly bigger and lay it on top – good side down.

Then, place the card stock on top and tape down.  For the first card it’s white cardstock, for the second card, it’s teal.

Click the timer button and when the light stops flashing, place the two shims (and a piece of cardstock) over the entire piece and run it through the Die Cutting Machine to transfer the foil.

For card one:  I trimmed the piece down to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and added a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ black card front.  For the second card, I left the teal piece at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
