Springtime Release with Alex Syberia Design | Video

Hello,

Bonnie here with you today. I am happy to be up on Alex Syberia Design’s blog to share three cards made from the March Release.

Springtime Card Panel

The first card is a beautiful image called Springtime.

I printed this floral on Fabriano water colour paper and cut it with the largest die in My Favorite Things’ Stitched Rectangles.

The image was painted with Karin Brush Markers:

Flowers – Pale Orange 357, Gold 283

Stems – Olive Green 281

Leaves – Apple 210

Cool Aqua 204 was applied to a glass mat and picked up with a water brush. The colour was applied to the background previously was brushed with water.  The blue was concentrated around the edges of the image and allowed to fade out. The panel was spattered with Winsor Newton’s white gouache paint.

The panel was mounted on sheet foam and adhered to an A2 sized card base. Simon Says Stamp’s Spring die from the Four Seasons die set was cut once in Simon’s Sea Glass card stock and three times in Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock.  The sentiments were dotted with Tombow glue and left to dry completely leaving a tacky finish. The sentiments were stacked in pairs and sandwiched a vellum circle that was die cut using Hero Art’s Infinity Circles.  The card was embellished with clear confetti topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew. White Crystal Drops finish up the card.

Fabulous Floral Slimline Card Panel

Fabulous Floral slimline was printed on both Bristol Smooth card stock and masking paper.

The image on the masking paper was trimmed and adhered to the Bristol image just inside the outline of the flowers’ edge.  Distress Oxide ink Antique Linen was applied to the background before the largest of Simon Says Stamp’s Slimline Mask was laid down.  Starting at the flower’s edge, Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Forest moss were blended lightest to darkest. Both masks were removed. When the Distress Oxide inks were completely dry, the frame’s edge was embossed with Ink On 3’s Gold Rush using a Versamarker pen and ruler.

The floral image was copic coloured:

Red Flowers  R27, 24, 20, 000

Yellow Flowers Y17,15, 11

The stamens were coloured in using a black Uniball gel pen.  The panel was adhered to a 3 3/4″ by 8 3/4″ card base. Dot detail was applied with Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops. Gold confetti topped with Morning Dew Nuvo Drops embellished the card.  Simon Says Stamp’s Spring Blessings was die cut from both matte gold card stock and foam.

Peony Background Card Panel

Peony Background was printed on Canson XL water colour paper and painted with Karin Brush Markers:

Flowers -Almond, Pale Pink, Almond, Gold

Leaves- Turquoise, Lush Green, Ocean Teal

The panel was fussy cut along the flowers edge, attached to foam and the excess foam trimmed off.

A black card stock panel was die cut with the largest die in Pinkfresh Studio’s Slim Stitched Rectangles and adhered to a card base measuring 3 3/4″ by 8 3/4″.  The foam backed floral image was adhered to a panel of Tonic Studio’s Silver Chequer paper that was die cut with the second largest die in Pinkfresh Studio’s Slim Stitched Rectangles before being attached to the card base.  Simon Says Stamp’s Happy Birthday Brush script was die cut from both black card stock and black foam.  The card was finished up by brushing White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops on both the flower petal edges and the sentiment.
