Hello friends. I’ve got a fun little card to share today that includes some very sweet mice, a trio of postage stamps and fall flowers all around! You could say these coffee-loving, sweet friends are “postage pals!” I’m using the following Alex Syberia Designs products for this 5″ X 7 card:
Sweet Friend stamp set
I’m using Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the 5″ X 7″ card base, postage stamps and flowers.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I die cut the postage stamps from white cardstock and stamped the mice, flowers and mushroom designs in three of the stamps using the coordinating stencil to keep within “the lines.” I added wood floors under both mice images by simply using a ruler to create the floor. I added a coffee mug to one mouse hand to match the other mouse. I also added a sky around the rodents. For the center postage stamp, I stamped the large daisy and a bunch of mushrooms and added a landscape floor and sky. I colored the daisy to look like a fall black-eyed Susan. I used the following Copic Sketch Markers to color the stamps: B000, B00, C7, C4, C1, R00, R01, B49, B11, R08, YR68, YR15, E57, E55, R14, E53, E50, E43, YG67, and YG17. I splattered the stamps with black watercolor paint, covering the white frames using the stencil.
I ink blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink around the perimeter of the card front using a blender brush and then splattered black watercolor paint all over the entire front using a fan brush. ]
I cut the stamps apart using a paper cutter by centering each cut over the open dots between the stamps. I assembled the card front, attaching the three stamps with foam tabs to make them stand out.
I die cut the flowers and leaves from the Andalusia Wildflowers Die Set. I colored the foliage and flowers using the same colors I used for the stamps plus, YG03 and YR24. I colored the “black-eyed Susans” to match the large flower in the center postage stamp. The elements were added all around the three postage stamps to complete the card. This card is fun, whimsical and oh, so sweet!
