Peony Background Digi Stamp | Watercolouring with Bonnie | Video

Hello everyone! Bonnie here with a watercolour featuring the gorgeous digital image, Peony Background.

The image was cropped to focus on two of the peonies and printed on Bristol Smooth card stock. I fussy cut this floral on three sides before I began colouring to ensure there would be no white edges. The panel was coloured with just two Karin markers; Lilac and Lush Green.

Lush green was applied along the edge of each leaf where it met another element overlapping it and at the base to create the shadow areas. The paint was pulled out with a water brush pen to create a gradient. Lilac was applied over the shadow areas and the veins of the leaves and the colour pulled out slightly.

The peonies were painted one petal at a time. The lilac marker was applied at the base and along any creases and folds in the petals to create dimension. Like the leaves, the colour was pulled out to create a gradient.

The panel was mounted on black sheet foam and trimmed by undercutting along the image’s edge. It was adhered to a black card stock panel that measured 4″ by 5 1/4″ and mounted on an A2 sized card base. Simon Says Stamp’s Happy Birthday Brush Script was die cut from gold matte card stock and black foam, stacked and attached to the card. A few gold confetti embellishments topped up with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew complete the card.
