Pengu-Tastic Holiday Mini Slimline

Hello everyone, this is Nicky with you today on the Alex Syberia Designs blog and I’m sharing a mini slimline card that I made in the middle of a snowstorm and it just had me dreaming of a sunny summer beach …. I can’t imagine why!!!!

To create the card I prepared a panel of sturdy white cardstock with the dimensions of 3 1/2 inches x 6 1/4 inches.  I used masking tape and softly ink blended 3 horizontal lines using Distress Oxide Ink in Scattered Straw for the sand, Salvaged Patina for the ocean and Tumbled Glass for the sky.  I glued this panel to my card base and set it to one side.

I used black ink to stamp the images from Pengu-tastic Holiday and I coloured the images with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Penguins – T6, T5, T4, T3, Y21, E50, YR09, YR04

Palm Tree – E77, E44, E42, E41, YG17, YG06, YG03

Blue – BG05, BG02, BG01, B00

Pink – RV63, RV02, RV10

Hat – Y21, E50, Y26

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then I die cut using the coordinating dies.

I cut the parasol in two and attached a half to each end of the card using foam tape.  All other components were then also adhered with foam tape, finishing off with the two part sentiment.

I used a tiny amount of Nuvo Dream Drops in Cloud 9 to add some subtle droplets in the ocean portion and with that this cheerful scene was complete.

Thanks for coming by to read today, I’ll be back before you know it with something new to share.

Nicky
