Merry kisses

Hello Crafty friends,

Sylvie @kaliscards here with a duo of tags featuring many amazing products from the latest release.

To create this duo of tags, I started by die cutting the tags from white cardstock 4 times (two sides to the two tags), using the Signature tags die set. I then dry embossed the tags with the Frosty lace stencil, but running them through my die  cutting machine with an embossing mat. By accident, I dried embossed each on a different side and I’m glad I did, because it shows how different they both look and complement each other, much like the back of the tags. I then dabbed Distress oxide Speckled egg over each.

Next, with the Holiday wreath and branch stencil set, I inked two small bows with Distress oxide Candied apple and Distress ink Lumberjack plaid and then heat set them with clear embossing powder to give them a little shine. I then die cut the bows with the coordinating die.

At the back of the tags, I stenciled the wreath with Distress oxides, aligning the tags side to side to stencil half the wreath on each. I then blended Distress oxide Tattered rose on the edges outside the wreath. I then stamped the Merry and From/To sentiments from the Christmas sentiments stamp set, and the Christmas sentiment from the Festive poinsettia stamp set.

Next, I die cut the mistletoe branches and berries from the Joyful poinsettia die set. I blended Distress oxide Twisted citron and Rustic wilderness on each and then splattered and dabbed Distress spray Rustic wilderness on the Twisted citron branches and Mica Tree lot spray on the Rustic wilderness branches. I then colored the berries with Copic markers.

I then splattered white gouache over the front tags and mistletoe branches.

Next, I stamped the mice and Merry kisses sentiments from the Merry Christmice stamp set and bunnies from the Spring bunnies stamp set. I colored the images with Copic markers and used the Merry Christmice and Spring bunnies coordinating die sets to cut the critters and sentiments out.

Finally, I assembled the tags, gluing the front and back side of the tags together, back to back. I then glued the mistletoe branches, adding liquid adhesive at the back, on the top part only. I also glued the berries over the leaves and the bow. I also glued the Merry kisses sentiments at the bottom and then adhered the critters with 3D foam.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day!

Sylvie

Gorgeous tags. How did you manage to colour the background tags so differently? I read what you wrote, but to me, I don't understand, lol. One is showing the colour on the swirls and the other is under the swirls, if that makes sense!? I'd love to get a reply from you please? X X

Hi Andea. This is because I embossed each tag on a different side, i.e., the front of one tag and back of the other. As I explain on the post , this was a happy accident.
