Hello Crafty friends,
This is Sylvie @kaliscards. I just can’t get enough of the cute Kokeshi dolls from the ‘Spring In Kyoto’ release with Spellbinders.
All products are available on the alexsyberiadesigns.com (US) and alexsyberiadesigns.co.uk (rest of the world) stores.
To create this card, I started with a 4″ by 5.5″ panel from Strathmore bristol cardstock which I foiled with the Parasols press plate and Spellbinders Opal foil.
I then blended Ranger Distress oxide Speckled egg over the entire panel and wiped off the excess on the foil. I then watercolored the panel adding Tumbled glass and Salvaged patina in random spots. I then reinforced the colors with Salty ocean and Peacock feathers. I put the panel aside to let it dry.
Next, I stamped the Kokeshi doll and Blossoms using Copic-friendly cardstock and ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut the images.
I also stamped the sentiment from the Grateful for you set on white cardstock and used the coordinating die.
I then aged the edges of the background panel with Ranger Distress inks Vintage photo and Walnut stain.
I adhered the blossoms and sentiment on the panel with liquid adhesive and trimmed anything sticking out of the panel. I then adhered the panel onto the cardbase with liquid adhesive. Finally, I adhered the doll with foam tape.
Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you next week.
Have a lovely crafty week!
