Hello Crafty friends,
Sylvie @kaliscards here with some inspiration with the new Joyful poinsettia die set, with a very unusual color palette for me and for Christmas cards. I love how the card turned out and hope it inspires you
To create the background panel, I stamped the Festive poinsettia with Ink on 3 Fadeout no line coloring ink and colored the flower with Copic markers E42, E41 and E40. I then blended Distress oxide Antique linen around the edges and Frayed burlap in the corners.
I then splattered White Copic opaque paint all over the background
I then die cut the various elements of the Joyful poinsettia from white cardstock and blended Distress oxides, from the smaller element to the wider:
1- Tattered rose and Saltwater taffy
2- Saltwater taffy and Seedless preserves
3- Seedless preserves and Aged mahogany
4- Aged mahogany and Black soot
5- Tumbled glass and Wilted violet
Used the same latter combination for the additional foliage
For the flowers, I colored them with a yellow Copic marker and then spreak gold metallic watercolor.
I then splattered Champagne gold watercolor over each individual part.
Once dry, I shaped the leaves with a large shaping tool and assembled the poinsettia with liquid adhesive.
I then placed the poinsettia in the bottom left corner and glued the foliage underneath. I then glued the poinsettia over the foliage.
I then foiled the Joy sentiment with Gold matte foil and die cut the sentiment with the coordinating die. I adhered the sentiment with liquid adhesive. Next, I stamped the small sentiment below it, from the Christmas sentiments stamp set and die cut it with the coordinating die. Finally, I adhered the sentiment with 3D foam.
To finish the card, I added Nuvo drops Gold coast over the poinsettia flowers and some glossy accents here and there on the leaves, before pouring Crystal candy rock over it. I then set it aside to dry.
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day!
