Hi all, Jo here, I am super excited to be a guest here today. First of all, let me say what a fabulous release and am in love with the designs. Today I have tried something I have never done before, and water coloured with Distress Oxide ink refills. I have water coloured before with ink refills with dye inks, so colouring with this type of formulation was new to me.
Products Used:
Sketched Hibiscus Digital design
Lotus White Digital design
Distress Oxide Ink refills – salvaged patina, squeezed lemonade, pink flamingo & twisted citron
Aqua brush
Clear block
WOW! Embossing Powder – Summer Scoop Trios
Cardstock – White, black & watercolour cardstock
Altenew – Permanent black ink
Card 1
- Digital designs are printed with a laser jet printer on watercolour cardstock
- With Distress Oxide inks salvaged patina, squeezed lemonade, pink flamingo & twisted citron I dropped some of the ink on a clear stamping block
- I picked up the inks with an aqua brush and water coloured the printed panel
- I heat embossed a white cardstock panel with WOW! Embossing Powder Razzleberry embossing glitter from the Summer Scoops Trios.
- I mounted the watercolour panel on the heat embossed panel then mounted a side folding card base.
- To finish the card base I stamped a sentiment on a strip of white cardstock which is then foam mounted on.
Card 2
- Digital designs are printed with a laser jet printer on watercolour cardstock
- With Distress Oxide inks salvaged patina, squeezed lemonade, pink flamingo & twisted citron I dropped some of the ink on a clear stamping block.
- I picked up the inks with an aqua brush and water coloured the printed panel
- I fussy cut the watercoloured image out.
- I heat embossed a white cardstock panel with WOW! Embossing Powder Lemon Sorbet embossing glitter from the Summer Scoops Trios.
- I mounted the watercolour panel cut out on the heat embossed panel then mounted on a black cardstock panel then on a top folding card base.
- For the sentiment I die cut with a thanks word die and embossed the shadow with Lemon Sorbet embossing glitter and black cardstock.
- I added some glossy accents on the black card stock to make it shine and finish the card off.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card creations and would love to know what you is your favourite colouring medium.
Happy paper crafting hugs
Jo
