Ho Ho Ho Christmas Tree

Ho Ho Ho… it’s time for Santa Claus! This weekend we are putting up our Christmas trees so that our daughter, who will be home for Thanksgiving, can help my husband decorate them. We put four trees up in our home and have so much fun doing it. Today’s card is all about the tree and the man dressed in red. It’s a Ho Ho Ho Holiday tree that sparkles and shines. I’m using the following Alex Syberia Designs products for this 5″ X 7″ card:

Build-A-Bow Christmas Tree dies

Bow Ho Ho Frame Die Set

Christmas Sentiments stamp set

Mystic Garden Mix Cardstock

Royal Elegance Mix Cardstock

My card is 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7 envelope. My card front panel and card base is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock.

To make this card, I first created a patterned background using this cute little tree from the Christmas Sentiments stamp set on a white panel measuring 5″ X 7″ for a full cover panel.  I stamped the tree in a nice leafy green. I used a Copic Sketch Marker in R46 and added two dots to each tree for a traditional look in red and green. Once the pattern paper was complete, I moved to the next layer – the die cuts.

I die cut the frame from the Bow Ho Ho Frame Die Set from a pretty glossy green cardstock, a paper from the Mystic Garden Mix Cardstock. I also used a green glitter from the same paper set to die cut the simple tree from the Build-A-Bow Christmas Tree die set. I die cut the “ho ho” words from red and white glitter cardstock  from and attached them to the green tree with glue.  The red cardstock is from the Royal Elegance Mix Cardstock. I attached the frame and tree to the front of the card. I added some sparkly gem stickers between the “ho ho hos” and the frame for additional interest. I attached the card front to the white card base to complete this holiday greeting.
