Hello Summer Digi Stamp | Quick and Easy to Add Color to Flowers

Hello everyone,

It’s Colleen and I’m on the blog today to show you a Quick and Easy way to add color to digital florals. I’m featuring a design from Alex’s new release called Hello Summer . This is a large, detailed flower that’s perfect for the technique I’m about to show you!

I printed this 5.5×4.25 sized image using my laser jet onto Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock. Alex is wonderful at designing her digis so that all you have to do is download and print! If you have an ink jet printer, allow the ink to dry before coloring so that it doesn’t bleed.

Here’s the fun part – I grabbed Catherine Pooler inks in Tiara, Catching Rays and Tiki Torch and blended with my blending brush directly over the flower, moving from darkest shade to lightest shade on the outer part of the petals. Then, I sprayed it to achieve water marks so the flower looks dewey!

Next, I did some dot coloring in the true Alex Syberia way with my Copic markers in Y17 and YR09. I thought that was an interesting way to add depth towards the middle of the flower! Final step was to heat emboss the stamin with Metallic Copper by WOW! Embossing Powder. I finished with my sentiment (very appropriate one at that!) and my card was done! It took an hour once I printed the design, not too bad!

I hope you found some helpful tips to add quick color to your digital designs. To shop Alex’s new release, click here. To visit my Instagram page, click here. I hope that you’ll come visit me!
