Hi friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here turning some heads and flowers (I’ll explain below) with the new Alex Syberia Designs release, From Our Hearts. I am using the new From Our Hearts stamps and coordinating dies along with a special flower and some leaves from the new die set, Trending Botanicals. The background was made using the Heart Collage die. The “hugs” sentiment is also new and from the Thanks & Hugs die set. How pretty are these sets?!
To create this 5″ X 7″ card, I started with a white card base and card front panel, measuring 5″ X 7″. I splattered watercolor over the front panel in a sunny yellow color. Next, I die cut the Heart Collage die from a sparkly white glitter cardstock. It just glimmers in the sunlight, next to me on my desk!
I stamped, colored and die cut the flowers, using the From Our Hearts stamps and coordinating dies. I used a bold yellow to make the card bright and cheery. I used Copic Sketch markers in YR24, Y19, Y08 and Y06. I left the outer edges of my flowers white for stronger contrast to the deepest color and added dots in white to the center using my Gelly Roll Pen. I attached the flowers to the collage on the card front panel in a triangular shape for balance. All three were attached using foam tabs.
For the leaves, I used dies from the Trending Botanicals set. I added a little shading to the leaves for more dimension. I colored them with Copic Sketch Markers in YG17, YG13 and YG03 to blend them out. I added the leaves around the flowers to create a pretty backdrop of green.
Next, I added a butterfly using two petals from the Trending Botanicals die set for the wings. I die cut them from orange, added some black and white details using a Copic Sketch 100 marker and my white Gelly Roll Pen. I hand cut a body and paper punched a face for the butterfly from black cardstock and added some antennas. The butterfly was assembled and attached to the card. I did put a small foam tab between the wings of the butterfly for dimension.
Final steps – a few sparkly mint green flat bottom sequins were attached around the florals and finally a big “hugs” sentiment die cut from orange cardstock using the Thanks & Hugs die set.
