Faux Watercolour featuring Alex Syberia Design’s Poinsettia Bouquet from Warm Wishes Bundle

Hello everyone! Bonnie here from BONNIECAROLLEE.com with a Christmas card featuring WARM WISHES A2 BUNDLE from the newest release, VINTAGE COLLECTION. Colouring with watercolour brush markers is an easy way to achieve the ‘look’ of watercolour without a lot of skill and it it not time consuming.

The image was printed on Bristol Smooth card stock … perfect for ink blending and colouring with watercolour brush pens. The background was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke. The image was coloured with Arteza Dual Brush Pens using the following colours:
• Poinsettias – Currant Red, Rosewood, Hot Pink
• Berries – Currant Red
• Leaves – Shamrock Green, Teal
• Needles – Shamrock Green
Instead of using a water brush pen or paintbrush to pull the colour, I used a sparkle pen … Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Pen.

The panel was spattered with watered down gouache and trimmed down to slightly smaller than A2 size. Simon Says Stamp’s A2 Thin Frames was used to die cut the panel and a silver metallic card stock thin frame. The inner panel and the thin frame were mounted on black foam. The outer frame was adhered directly to an A2 sized card base and the foam mounted panel attached.

Simon Says Stamp’s Merry Christmas was used to die cut both silver metallic card stock and black foam. After the stacked sentiment was adhered to the card, silver sequins topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew were used as the final touches.
