Hello everyone! Bonnie here from BONNIECAROLLEE.com! Today’s card features a gorgeous digital image GRATEFUL HEART. We have lots of snow where I live and that always fills me with the spirit of Christmas! I love Christmas florals so I dressed up this beautiful, digital image accordingly.
I wanted the image to be bigger so I created a 5” by 7” card. I began by ink smooshing Bristol Smooth card stock with Distress Oxide inks Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, Kitsch Flamingo and Wilted Violet. After the card stock was completely dry, the image was printed on the ink smooshed panel.
Whenever I colour an image with many elements, I like to tackle things one at a time. I began the Copic colouring with all the leaves working in violet tones, V000, 04, 06 and 09. On a couple of leafy branches, I used a touch of W7. Various combinations consisting of one to three colours were used. Once all the leaves were coloured, it was easier to see the multi-petalled flowers. The blooms were coloured with R81, 83, 85 and 89. Alternating flowers were coloured with red tones, R83, 85, 89, and the rest were more on the pink side, R81, 83, 85.
The panel was spattered with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter. The center of the panel was die cut with Simon Says Stamp’s Thin Circle Frame. The panel was mounted on black card stock slightly smaller than the 5” by 7” card base. The die cut circle was mounted on black foam and adhered to the centre of the panel. The thin frame was not used as there is a narrow gap between the circle and the panel creating a black frame. Simon’s Large Written Merry Christmas was die cut from black card stock and mounted on foam. The dot detail in the centre of the flowers were highlighted with black Nuvo Drops. The card was embellished with clear sequins topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
