Congrats – Delicate Blooms

Hello, fellow crafters and happy Monday!! I always love a fresh start to the week!! Brenda here with a card featuring some of the products from the Celebrating You Release, along with the new Alex Syberia & WOW! collaboration Delicate Blooms embossing powders!!

I began by applying embossing ink onto a panel of white cardstock through the Shiny Diamonds Stencil with a sponge dauber. I applied the Rosewater embossing powder on the top of the panel and the Tranquil Azure toward the bottom and melted them with a heat tool. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to an aqua panel of cardstock that was die-cut with the largest rectangle die in the Nested Scalloped Frames Die Set.

Next, I die-cut all the pieces in the Delicate Blooms Die Set from watercolor paper. I pulled Distress Oxide inks that closely matched the embossing powders (Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed and Evergreen Bough) and smooshed them onto my glass mat, then diluted them with water. I swiped the die-cuts through the ink until I got the effect that I wanted, then set them aside to dry. Once they were dry, I splattered them with diluted white gouache.

I wanted the sentiment to match the blooms, so I ink-blended Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink onto a panel of white cardstock and die-cut it with the top layer of the “Congrats” die in the Congrats & Hooray Die Set. The shadow layer was cut from white cardstock. The flowers were arranged and adhered to the background with liquid glue and the sentiment was popped up with foam tape.

I love the contrast of the shiny embossing powder with the chalky, matte finish of the inked flowers and leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you next Monday!!

Brenda
