How about some colouring therapy with a new Alex Syberia Design digital image from the July Release?
Hello everyone! Bonnie here from bonniecarollee.com sharing some colouring therapy! There is nothing like a repeat design to make you feel relaxed as you colour. Couple that with a beautifully designed image and you have the perfect crafting session! COLORING THERAPY fits the bill! I love this design!
I began with an oversized panel, 5” by 7”, of Bristol Smooth card stock. It was ink ’smooshed‘ with Distress Oxide inks Pumice Stone, Iced Spruce and Tumbled Glass to create a subtle background. Before feeding the panel through the manual feed of the printer, it was completely dry and set under some heavy weight so it laid flat. The vines were painted simply with Ken Oliver’s Liquid Metals.
I worked with three colours; Metallic Turquois, Metallic Quartz, Metallic Peridot. Beginning with the central vine in turquoise, the colours were alternated. The painted images have a shimmer when the light strikes it … unfortunately, I was unable to capture that in a photo. Simon Says Stamp’s Inside Friendship Messages was used for the sentiments.
The main sentiment was embossed on vellum with Ink On 3’s Gold Rush embossing powder. The secondary sentiment was stamped with Black Onyx Versafine ink directly on the card front. The panel was mounted on sheet foam and adhered to black card stock that was cut to 5 3/8” by 4 1/8”. The top folding, A2 sized card base was made from Neenah Classic Crest 110 lb card stock. The card was embellished with gold confetti topped with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
