Hello card makers! This is Nicky with you today on the Alex Syberia Designs blog where I’m sharing a new card featuring products from the March Press Plate release and I’ve combined them with some older ‘must have’ items.
So this card began as a panel of sturdy white cardstock and I took the Charming Floral Background Press Plate and used it in my Glimmer machine and together with some minty green foil, I foiled the panel with the floral design. I then used the coordinating Charming Floral Stencil Set. This is a 5 part stencil set through which you can ink blend and create countless different flower designs through use of colour. I chose Distress Inks in Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Rustic Wilderness together with ‘Minty’ by The Stamp Market.
I die cut the panel using the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set and adhered this shimmering panel to my prepared card base.
I used the same diet set to create a sturdy vellum panel one size down from the main panel and I glued this to the floral background, only applying glue to the centre where it would be hidden by the next panel I created using the Nested Scalloped Frames Die Set.
With this pretty little panel I masked off the top and the bottom and then used the inks I’d used before for the floral background but this time I softly ink blended grass and sky. I removed the masks and backed the panel with white craft foam and adhered it to the vellum
I stamped the umbrella and mice from Sweet Friend. I coloured the mice using Copic markers in E44, E43, E42, E31, E41, E40 and W00. I blushed their cheeks and coloured their ears using R22, R21, R20 and R00. The dress was RV06, RV04 and RV02. The orange shirt uses YR14, Y38, Y19. Lastly, the umbrella is C1, C00 and I came in with a skinny felt tip pen to lightly add the two minty green stripes around the edge.
The Sweet Friend images were die cut using the coordinating die, backed with dimensional foam tape and applied to the mini background. A few points were highlighted with a white gel pen. I added a few sparkling clear sequins and stamped the sentiment which is from Self-Care Sentiments.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read about my card today, I hope you enjoy a lovely weekend of crafting!
Nicky
