Hello friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a celebration card for those who love cake! I’m sharing a card today that features the following September release products by Alex Syberia Designs:
Celebrate With Cake stamp set and coordinating dies
Carnival Party Stencil and die set
Floral Balloon Extravaganza stamp set
This 5″ X 7″ greeting card is scored at the top and has a cutout front panel, allowing the color-coordinating streamers and pinwheels to cascade above and around a layered cake attached to the inside panel. I used 80lb Classic Crest Solar White cardstock for all of the elements, except for the cake that was die cut from a light blue cardstock.
To make this A7 card, I stenciled the streamers on the front panel, using the Carnival Party Stencil and die set and Distress Oxide Inks in Shaded Lilac and Salvaged Patina. For the pinwheels, I used a separate piece of cardstock and Distress Oxide Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac. I cut out the pinwheels using the coordinating dies that come with the stencils. I attached the pinwheels using foam tabs and attached bright blue rhinestone gem stickers to the centers. Lastly, I hand cut around the streamers to complete front panel.
For the inside panel ( a separate 5″ X 7″ cardstock piece,) I stenciled the Shiny Diamonds Stencil diamond pattern on the bottom of the inside panel in Blueprint Sketch. At the top, I stenciled more pinwheels, keeping the shades lighter than on the front panel. I made sure that some pinwheels would extend beyond the front panel bottom edge and would show from the front. I used my Copic Markers to add extra tiny dots around the party decor for a festive feel. I stamped the phrases from the Floral Balloon Extravaganza stamp set in black ink. I made sure to position the sentiment underneath the front panel so that it would be hidden when the card is in its closed position.
Using the Celebrate With Cake stamp set and coordinating dies, I cut the cake stand and layers of the cake from a powder blue cardstock and blended different colored inks on each cake layer. I heat embossed in white, the cake decorations and attached the accents. I added one pinwheel to the front and stamped / die cut flowers and leaves on the cake topper. The banner “for you” was also attached behind the pinwheel. I attached the cake with foam dots to make it stand out. All of these cake decoration elements are from the Celebrate With Cake stamp set and coordinating dies.
