Celebrate Leaf Backdrop

Hi crafty friends

Welcome to the Alex Syberia Designs blog. Cheryl here today to share a card that has a clean and simple design and demonstrates how you can use die cutting as a backdrop for a card.

When you have a stamp and die set you tend to have a main focal image in the set. Well, Create Your Own Happy stamp set by Alex Syberia Designs has many smaller images. Perfect for this technique,

I stamped several of the leaves in different shades of green. Then, I die cut lots of leaves, some coloured and some plain white. I love my dimension so I layered up each leaf.

Following this, I really just placed the leaves around an A2 card panel. I cut off any overhanging leaves which always makes me fidgety, but the effect is always pretty cool.

Gold always stands out well with white and green so I die cut the Celebrate die in shiny gold cardstock from my stash. I angled it to add interest, then added a sentiment from the stamp set.

I really like how my card turned out. Sometimes I feel the need to keep adding more, but sometimes less is more (if you know what I mean?!)

Remember, this technique can be used with all of your stamp sets because you don’t always have to use the main focal image to create a card.

Well, that’s all from me today my friends, see you again very soon!

Cheryl
