I’m using the following Alex Syberia Designs products:
Watercolour Flowers stamps and coordinating dies
Trendy Pattern Cover Plate die
Self Care Sentiments stamps and coordinating dies (Note: I used the stamps only, for this project.)
I’m using 80lb white cardstock for the card base, background die cut and the flowers.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I die cut the pattern background using the Trendy Pattern Cover Plate die and white cardstock. Behind it, I added a piece of cardstock that was stamped with the flowers, and included some washes of blues and greens using watercolor paints. It’s subtle, but looks pretty peeping through the trendy trellis design. I layered the two pieces and glued them to the card base, leaving about 1-1/2″ at the bottom for the sentiment.
I stamped the Watercolour Flowers in a pretty blue using Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean and Shaded Lilac. The lilac is subtle and only peeks through in places. Notice that I did not try to achieve a solid stamped image. I like that some areas are lighter and splotchy for a more artistic effect. I stamped the coordinating flower centers in a black dye ink. These flowers are just stunning with the bold centers. The leaves were stamped using Distress Oxide Ink in Crushed Olive and Shabby Shutters. I die cut all the stamped elements using the coordinating dies.
The flowers were arranged in a cascading, diagonal, oblong shape and glued in place. I used foam dots to pop up a couple of the flowers to make the arrangement more dimensional. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, Self Care Sentiments stamps.
