Hello Crafty friends,
This is Sylvie @kaliscards sharing a new project mixing the Spring clover and Cheerful meadow die sets.
This project is one of the 5 projects I created for the July release of the @creativestampingmagazine. The projects all follow the same color scheme (red, yellow, orange and turquoise).
To create this project, I started with the postage stamps and die cut the Postage stamps cover die from Neenah classic solar white cardstock. I then cut off 2 stamps vertically. I used the coordinating Postage stamps stencil to ink blend the stamps with Ranger Distress oxides Carved pumpkin and on the edges, Crackling campfire which I darkened with Lumberjack plaid.
I then used the Special delivery stamp set to stamp the prices and postmarks.
Next, I die cut from Neenah classic crest solar white cardstock two of the Spring clovers, as well as the butterfly and bunny from the Cheerful meadow die set. I die cut twice the Spring clover flower top layer. I used Ranger Distress oxides to color the die cuts:
Bunny: Pumice stone and Kitsch flamingo for the cheeks and ears
Butterfly: Tumbled glass, Salty ocean and Blueprint sketch
Spring clover: Twisted citron and Rustic wilderness / Lumberjack plaid (oxide on the background and ink on the top layer, to get a darker shade)
I used liquid adhesive to adhere all layers of the butterfly and Spring clovers. For the top layer of the flower, I glued the first top layer on top of the flower background and then offset the second layer, to add a little more interest. For the wings, petals and leaves, I glued only the tip of the shape and slightly bent the paper, to give it a little dimension. I then used several layers of mini glue dots which I adhere underneath so it doesn’t flatten when mailed. I also used foam tape to adhere the flowers on the stems.
For the sentiment, I used the Classic sentiments press plate which I pressed onto BetterPress Cotton card panel Porcelain with black ink. I then used the coordinating dies to cut all sentiments at once.
I then prepared the cardbase, 4.3″ by 5.5″ and blended Distress oxide Mustard seed on the left part through the Pureland fan stencil, allowing it to fade out on the edges.
I then adhered the strip of postage stamps on the right part with foam tape. I adhered the bunny with foam tape on the bottom postage stamp. For the butterfly, I added foam tape on the wings and used liquid adhesive for the body, to adhere on the top postage stamp. I then adhered the longest clover flower with foam tape on the left. I then adhered the second one with liquid adhesive and foam tape. Finally, I adhered the sentiment with foam tape.
Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you next week.
Have a lovely crafty week!
