Glitter is always in style around the holidays! This card features all the pretty new cardstock options at Alex Syberia Designs along with new products from the Bow Ho Ho Release. For this 5″ X 7″ card, I’m using the following items:
Build A Bow Christmas Tree die Set
Christmas Sparkle Mix Cardstock pack
Mystic Garden Mix Cardstock pack
Gold and Turquoise Mix Cardstock
I used White cardstock for the 5″ X 7″ front panel and card base.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I die cut the tree from white cardstock and then added strips of glitter cardstock from Christmas Sparkle Mix Cardstock pack, Mystic Garden Mix Cardstock pack, and Gold and Turquoise Mix Cardstock to the tree and cut the edges to match the tree shape. Another option is add the glitter strips to a square of cardstock and then die cut the tree from the layered cardstock. I did vary the strip widths for added interest. I added a bow to the top of the tree and complementary rhinestone gem stickers to add even more sparkle to the tree. The very top flower petals on the tree is the poinsettia center from the Christmas Bouquet Die Set.
To make the presents, I punched out squares and rectangles using a paper punch and/or my paper cutter from some solid cardstock cardstock. I die cut bows from the remaining glitter cardstock and attached them to each gift. I also added some simple designs on the presents for patterned gift wrap.
I die cut the Falala die set twice and threw away one of the “Fs.”
For the background, I splattered watercolor paint over the card front in blues, pinks, and greens. I attached the tree, “falalalala” sentiment on both sides of the tree, and the presents beneath the tree. I used foam tabs to attach the tree and a couple of the presents for added depth and dimension to the card front. I punched out some little gold glitter circles using a handheld circle punch. I attached them over the splatters and around the tree for added whimsy.
