Hi friends & happy Monday!! Brenda back with you today!! I hope those of you in the US are having a wonderful Labor Day weekend!! There’s a fun and inspiring IG Hop with Lisa Horton Crafts happening over on IG today!! I kept the design of my cards simple to allow the inks and the backgrounds to shine!! Can you believe that both of these cards were created with the same ASD products and Lisa Horton inks?!?
I began with the backgrounds. On the top card, I pressed the Charming Floral Background Press Plate onto a panel of white cardstock with Cloud 9 Licorice Ink using the BetterPress System. For the bottom card, I embossed the same press plate onto a panel of black cardstock using an embossing mat in my die-cut machine. I blended the Charming Floral Background Stencil Set onto both panels using Sugar Candy and Surf’s Up Matt Blending Inks and Tropical Paradise and Sapphire Gold Interference Inks. I blended a bit of Solid Gold Metallic Pigment Ink onto the centers of the flowers on the black panel. I diluted a bit of each of the interference inks and splattered them onto the panels, along with diluted white bleed-proof ink. Once the ink was dry, I trimmed the panels slightly, then wrapped black and white twine around the bottom of each panel.
The largest rectangle die in the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set was cut from black cardstock and the background panels were adhered with liquid glue. The sentiments, from the Essential Sentiments Press Plate and Die Set, were foiled onto black cardstock with matte gold foil using the Glimmer System, then cut out with the Essential Sentiments Press Plate and Die Set. They were popped up over the twine with foam tape. Gold gems were sprinkled around the sentiment on each card to finish them off.
I can’t wait to experiment with these inks even more!!
