Abstract Florals for Distinctive Looks

Hello friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a couple of cards that feature the beautiful Abstract Floral Background by Alex Syberia Designs.  I am new to using press plates so this was a fun release for me. I only have the black ink now so both of my projects below use the black ink on the plates, creating a black background. I think it’s time for me to get more inks!

Abstract Floral Card

For this 5″ X 7″ card, I used my Letterpress Black Ink and my LetterPress system to print the floral on the top half of this A7-sized card.  I added some rose color to the florals using my Copic Markers in R32 and R20. The rose and black color scheme is a nice romantic combination of color. I used the Abstract Floral Background press plate to stamp another set of florals and cut some out. I kept these focal florals black and white to layer later. I attached the rose florals to the top half of the card base front.

The bottom half of this card was created with a ruler, my Gelly Roll white pen and some silver pearl gem stickers. Using my ruler, I inked the white lines in a diagonal fashion in both directions, creating the diamond pattern. I attached the design to the bottom half of the card and  added pearlized gem stickers to the intersections of the lines.  Lastly,  I printed the “thank you” sentiment using the Classic Sentiments Press Plate and dies. The black and white florals and the “thank you” sentiment were added over the patterns to complete the card.

Circular Abstract Floral Card

For my second card, I used the Abstract Floral Background press plate to create the circular background. I added a touch of blue to the flowers using B00 and B02 Copic Sketch Markers. Using the Nested Stitched Circle Die Set, I cut the florals into a circular shape and added the larger stitched circle to the back to frame it.

I splattered the the white 5″ X 7″ card base with black watercolor ink. Once it was dry, I attached the circle to the card front. I added some yellow-green and white foliage to accent the circle design using the Classic Foliage dies. Lastly, I added a “Hello” sentiment from the Classic Sentiments Press Plate and dies.
